Sleep is great. It’s one of my favourite ‘me time’ activities, and is very necessary for fully-functioning humans. While you’re passed out from your exhausting, time-poor schedule, your body, and your skin, goes to work – Sleep enhances its ability to fight environmental and natural damage, which translates into a better and brighter complexion. Sleep reduces cortisol (the stress hormone), which is responsible for thinning skin and stretch marks. It causes melatonin (the sleep hormone) production, which acts as an antioxidant to fight age spots and fine lines. A good night's rest can also increase the efficiency of special growth hormones that repair and regenerate collagen-producing cells, which are responsible for skin's elasticity and tightness.
Now all of the above is going to happen naturally, if you’re getting your recommended 8 hours, however there are certainly things you can do to help the process along…
